Default Turbo C not starting ?


hey!!! whenever i try to start turbo c the screen goes blck & thw old window comes back & so nothing happens. Does any body knows the solution what to do??

Please help me.my exams are near.and i am not able to fix this problem....

I had even downloaded a new installer of turbo c from
http://cc.codegear.com/Free/tc201 But when i tried to click install.exe nothing happens...Please help me...

And also tell me another good compiler i can use as a substitute for TurboC for Developing C programs....

Check by doing the following:

1. Uninstall it and try it by reinstalling again.
2. Try it in running in Windowed mode by pressing Alt+Enter.

The installation worked for me:



Dev C++ is a good alternative if you can't get it running.

Try to run the install.exe in CMD?

Anyway, You can try MinGW + Geany combination. See my sig for that.

There can be many reasons why your TC is not running.
How do you launch it?
Usually the tc.exe file is present in <tc-home>/bin path. That is what I click on to launch it.
If you are running it in Vista you would have to turn on compatibility mode for XP(if vista has such a thing).
DEVC++ and ulimate++ too are good IDE's and they use the standards compliant gcc compiler.

what OS are you using? can you post the screenshot of the error here?
