Default Mapping Network Drives Between Notebook and PC ?

Hello friends i have a notebook and a pc . the pc is connected to the router through lan and notebook is connected via wifi . the pc is runing on windows xp sp3 and notebook on windows 7 .

i have once managed to map network drive by entering computer's address manually . but it is not working after restart . it is giving error that the remote computer is not connected .

also to notice , the local ips of both notebook and pc keep on changing . (because of other devices also useing wifi )

what are the methods i can try ?
