windows xp takes reallly long time to start up (more than 8 mins)

i recently windoes xp switching from arch linux on my laptop . installing windows xp on compeq cq40-133TU is a really hard task ,

though i managed to install windows xp and some basic drivers i referred

but still i have few problems , i still have many drivers not installed and the startup takes reallly long time .

more than 8 mins at the boot logo . i have already tried noguiboot but it doesnt solve the problem .

also audio is not coming from notebook though i installed audio driver

It happened to me too but the ultimate solution is to create the tracks and sectors again by doing a format and not quick format. Format with NTFS and reinstall windows. It worked for me.

@ DJ: I don't think formatting again will work, I think you'll eventually need your drivers, you can get them from your compac support center...

they dont have drivers for xp . and i am now on fresh install of windows xp , the audio driver is giving problems . it doesnt wants to installed . i hv even installed uaa drivers

damn i get long startup problem again , but i knew it happned after i installed kaspersky

If you can then make an nlited XP disc with drivers from...www.driverpacks.net, you'll get all your drivers slipstreamed into it...
