Default does win98/me run on Nforce 4 chipset


i want to know that whether win98/me is supported by nforce 4 chipset.

b'coz MSI website states that their Mobo having Nforce 4 chipset doesnt support win98/me but such things are not mentioned by other manufactures.

Yes, I saw that on MSI's site too. But a google search yielded that nForce 4 WHQL drivers for Win 98 are available. I guess that means nForce4 is compatible with 98. Not sure tho.

But why do you want Win98 on current gen comps
XP will help you run current gen systems stable.

Win98 was created earlier when these Mobo was not
even heard of.

So i suggest you to use XP for a stable system.

sometimes one has ro use old o/s such as win98 for compatibility problems

I have bought ASUS A8N-E mobo.
(NForce 4 Ultra Chipset)
Now I just want to know whether this motherboard supports Win98/Me.

u can run all programs compatible with win98 using XP. just go to the properties of the program file, and make it run in win98/me compatibility mode
