Default Top backup software - after testing many...

Acronis trueimage will back up the total system(incl OS,files,programs..etc) as an "image" file .If crash happens u can recover the total system or only particular files from the "image" file. No need to seperately again install drivers, programs, copy files

Even if Xp doesn't start u can boot with the recovery cd and restore the total system or particular files from Acronis trueimage home.

I tested and reviewed 6 softwares(Paragon drivebackup,norton ghost,macrium reflect,ez backup,migo,acronis)
and this is the greatest .Also acronis is long established.

Features--

Backup the total system or only particular files
Incremental backup (add files, changes to the image file)
Restore from recovery cd
Search for file name or content in the archive(image file)
Bootable archives on CD/DVD
Compress, split backup(for copying to cd/dvd),schedule and merge backups

For full features - http://www.acronis.com.sg/homecomput...cts/trueimage/

Note- In freeware softwares there is no incremental backup, bootable archives on CD/DVD,compress,schedule backup. -- upayogit softw ke liye rupaye kharch karna ...
--- Kyunki jo dhan apne kharch ya daan me upayogit na hota uske dhan "tax collectors" ya chor le lete hai (Niti shastra)

Main things in the program--

1.For making the recovery cd - In tools---select create bootable rescue media

2.In tools---options---default backup options---compression level---select none

3.In the same default backup options---backup performance---backup prority---select high(if u have less ram)

Note - Usually i test programs for features, updates, easy usage etc.. and compare them.

namaste.

Default Re: Top backup software - after testing many...

You have ,IMO, missed the very best - Storagecraft's Shadowprotect Desktop Edition
http://www.storagecraft.com/products...rotectDesktop/

Since you have tested as many as 6 back-up software, you may now try this software too vis-a-vis Acronis True Image before coming to any conclusions and post your verdict.

I am still using Acronis True Image for my XP machine, but moved over to Shadowprotect Desktop for my Vista Media Center machine after reading rave reviews and I must say I am happier than I was with ATI.
BTW, I see too many "Right off assembly line" posters and their posts are always the first from different nicks and most of the time it appears to be a copy and paste exercise.Sorry for my conviction or conjecture, but I can't help it.

BTW,I am sure that you are not going to take cognizance of my this post
