Exclamation booting vista


hello to all

i am using vista home basic.
having vista i installed win XP sp2 which causes me problem so i uninstall it.it also creats problem for my vista. i again install a fresh copy of vista.it works correctly.But at the booting time it shows me two options-
1-use earlier versions of windows -(which do not starts )
2-microsoft vista (which works)
skynet2121 is offline

first tell which OS you installed first..vista or xp??have you installed both in the same drive?

if you want to remove the dual boot option at startup then go to my computer properties....startup and recovery.."settings"...edit...

at the first line you'll see something like multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windo ws XP"........
delete this line and save it..

It is always advisable to install the older OS first and then the new one. If you want a clean install, you have to format the partition and install the two OS in two different partitions.
