Default Oracle 8i Installing Problem in XP

I Installed Oracle 8i in my PC using XP,Immediatly After Installing It was Running Fine, Means It was Accepting SCOTT TIGER, But After Restarting its not Accepting SCOTT-TIGER or SYSTEM-MANAGER, Why this is SO? What Should i Do now? I Installed Oracle 8.1.5.0.0 Personal Edition, I m Using Winxp with NTFS, I Searched in the Forum one Guy Said that 8i Doesn't Support to WINXP. Is it True? Should i go for 9i?

1. Run notepad
2. PAste this
Quote:
@echo off

echo connect INTERNAL/ORACLE >%0.tmp
echo STARTUP OPEN >>%0.tmp
echo exit 8; >>%0.tmp

rem -- Run sql script --

sqlplus /nolog @%0.tmp

rem -- Cleanup --
del %0.tmp
start sqlplusw scott/tiger

3. File > Save AS
4. Save in C Drive as Start_oracle.bat
5. Run this file each time and it should work

Oracle 9i Doesn't Support VISTA, But Supports XP
Oracle 8i Doesn't Support VISTA Nor XP But Supports 2000
Oracle 8 Supports XP
Oracle 10g/11g Supports XP and VISTA Both

I read somewhere that few version of 10g Doesn't Run on VISTA
[I am Not 100% Sure, I told you by Googling abt Oracle]
