Vista Experience Index NOT > 5.9 ???

Hey guys,

Recently I purchased a PC with the following config.

C2Q 9550
MSI P45 Platinum
CM Elite 330
CM 600W PSU
Sapphire HD4870 512MB --- Rs. 16400/-
2 x 2 GB Transcend RAM 800Mhz
Dell 1909 19" LCD
Microsoft Keyboard 500
Microsoft Mouse 1000
Altec Lansing VS3251 5.1 Speakers
APC 650VA UPS

The thing which I want to ask is that, my Windows Vista Experience Index is 5.9. It is the same for everything, viz. HDD, Processor, Graphics, etc. as it is determined by the lowest subscore.

I want to know, is that the maximum limit?? I thought mine would have scored near 7!!

Vista Experience Index is just for keeping noobs busy and giving them something to gossip about. Ignore it. You have a good config.

Yep it's a gimmick.

BTW, It's max score is 5.9. So it doesn't goes beyond that but you can always hack it to increase the number just to show your pals

The maximum limit for experience rating in Vista is 5.9 while it is 7.9 in Windows 7..
