Exclamation why this will happn?


i installed vista then xp in my pc but afer installing xp vista not works why?
why we cant installed xp after vista.
when i installed xp first then vista then both works right why?

I think you got messed with bootloader of Windows XP. Tell me if you are facing the following scenario in your PC.

You installed Windows Vista and it was running just fine. Then you took out Windows XP CD and installed it on other partition/HDD. Now, hell broke loose, suddenly Windows Vista is not showing up in the bootloader and the PC is automatically going to Windows XP.

debsuvra is correct. the bootloader of xp is an older one which does not recognize vista.
to get to dual-boot mode with both vista and xp working, download and install vistabootpro. the software will modify the bootloader.

Also, do check out the "Questions" section of recent Digit magazine editions. This is one of the most common issue these days and the Digit guys tend to answer it almost everytime.
