Default My display gone blank. HELP

Hi all,
My PC config is AMD X2 5600+ and Asus M2M68 mobo with onboard nForce 7 gfx.
Last night I installed the drivers that came with Digit DVD this month. It asked me to uninstall previous drivers and it automatically did so...but the next time I rebooted, my display has gone all blank. After the boot screen, nothing comes. Just the black screen. I can't boot into Safe mode as it gets restarted. And If i select 'Enable VGA mode'(F8 advanced options), my mouse and keyboard don't work.
The other problem is with the motherboard CD drivers. I installed XP Home edition with SP1. Then I installed the drivers from the MOBO CD. But even though my gfx is detected correctly, the display resoultion is 800x600 at 4-bit color. Later I found there are no drivers installed for 'Plug and Play' monitor. (Mine is LG StudioWorks ). 700E). If I uninstall the display drivers, I can select higher resolutions at 32-bit color but then the onboard gfx is not detected. Do I have to install SP2 for XP?
I am in a dilemma. Please help. I love my computer more than the 'pink' day.

Default Re: My display gone blank. HELP

you have mentioned that the machine restarts when you try booting into the safe mode... try this... while booting hit F8 to get to the boot options mode (same place where you select the safe mode)... towards the end of the list there is an option something like "disable automatic reboot on failure"... select that and then try to boot into safe mode again... this time you should see a bugcheck and a STOP error code... its most probably a ring 0 kernel driver you have thats doing this... running a repair installation is a very good resolution here... you wont lose any of your data...
