Default AMD System freezes too much!!

I have a AMD Athlon 2600+ on a Asus A7V8XSE with one 120mm fan xtra running. I keep my cabinet open when using the comp but every now & then the comp freezes doing just about anything.
Mostly it FREEZES when either playing Q3 or my playlists in WinAMP
I have Windows XP SP2 installed. It really annoying and disturbing as & when I have restart and run scandisk. It at times hangs during restart also.
Pl help.

1)aslo defrag the harddisk
2)delete the junk files
3)use some good speed booster tools
4)disable the windows eye candy
5)check your ram
6)check your electricity connections and SMPS
7)use SPEEDFAN to monitor system temp and see if the temp is only responsible for freezing
8) last option------- CONTACT YOUR VENDOR and check the some hardware if its faulty or not .

I have an AMD 64 bit Athlon XP system. I have a massive Nvidia graphics card, with an audigy Sound card and a TV-Video processing card with two HDDs. My system heats up like a furnace ! There is a big problem with heat in these powerful systems, but a very easy option is to open your side cabinet cover and just put a portable fan and keep it on full speed . No matter how hot it is during summer u will not have any heating problem . OR else u could just switch on your AC when u use your PC . But then of course this will be expensive.

If your PC does overheat often and this does not solve your problem , I'm afraid it could already have suffered heat damage .

now which model is called "massive nvidia card"..lolz...u r not expected to b so vague on a tech forum...lolz..no hard feelings...btw it is a good suggestion...even i used to put portable fan besides my open cabinet to cool my amd athlon xp 2500+...btw...if a guy has ac in da room he any way wont require anything else bcuz general temps in ac room is bearable for a processor even if ac is switched off at the time of using...
