max download?? do u mean transfer rate, well depends in consumer bb max transfer rate is 220-230kbps in 2mbps tariff plans.... and no speed does not depend on file format....

In Mumbai I took a connection of lan based internet...
I donno how but it provided me upto 800KBps download and 600KBps upload.

It was awsome...can download a 700 mb file in 15-20 mins...will miss it

^^ Nah I've used 8mbps
Downloaded a whole CD in 10 minutes minutes ( 9 minutes 40 seconds to be specific )
So dats a bit slow
