Exclamation DELL XPS STUDIO 16: plz Clarify sum points for me

Ok guys,

went thru dell's site www.dell.co.in to look for the XPS Studio 16,my budget for this lappy is upto Rs.85,000/-with gaming, programming and a lil'bit of movie watching being my requirememnts..

so plz help me clarify these points:

1.) Is it better to hv a 64bit or a 32bit OS? (my primary work wud be for Java and Advance Java like Netbeans, web applications, running server on it like apache/synapse and JDBC all at the same time..)

2.) as per my work requirements above as a student, shud i hv more than 4GB of RAM in the lappy, like say 5,6 or 8GB? (32 bit OS needs upto max of 4GB RAM where as 64 bit OS will allow me to add more than 4GB of RAM, as per DELL's site)

3.) Shud i go for 1080p FULL HD type of lappy screen or 720p (reso: 1366x768) (i like watching movies and with the dual headphone jack, i will watch it occassionally, but still for future proofing, is 1080p good)?
I am absolutely comfortable with the 1440x900 reso on my PC's 19" LCD Screen

4.) If suppose, i take the option of the above (1080p FULL HD screen having reso: 1920x1080), shud i Compulsorily also hv the blu ray drive to watch FULL HD movies on it ?

5.) Is the 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 better for gaming ?? Im not like those ultra high end gamers, but still want tat the latest games shud run on ATLEAST mid to high settings if NOT ultra high settings..
---------------------
6.) (order related query): is it better to buy the lappy from Croma Store, Malad or place an order online or via their call center (wichever way that is, i dnt knw much abt placing order online, so plz advice me) to get the max discount ??

I once (like 4 months back) asked abt the Discount thingy to the sales person at Croma Store, malad.. he said tat I can save upto Rs.4000/- if i get the lappy deliverd outside the Mumbai area, say to my friend's place at Virar..
----------------

Im planning to make the purchase in 1 week's time..
-----------------

Cheers n e-peace...

1) 64-bit will be better if you want to use more amount of RAM
2) you don't need anything more than 2gig if you don't do any memory intensive tasks like video and audio rendering. You can stick to 4Gig
3) 1080p on a 16" lappy with lower-mid level graphics card is not recommended. Stick to 1440x900 or 1600x1200. Bluray drive is very costly and is unnecessary purchase right now.
4) 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 is okay for gaming. not a great card. YOu will get decent FPS in latest games. DOn't expect to play latest dx10 games with full eye candy
5) order it online. always better option. You can select whatever you want and I don't trust these third party dealers.

^^
i was jus hoping tat u wud turn up to reply to my queries and im happy to see ur frank yet precious replies.. Thanx Desiibond..
-----------

1.) So, is a Vista OS 64bit good enough ?? Never tried it though, im happy with my XP PRO SP3 32bit OS, are these 64bit Win xp pro sp3 os called by (x86) or by "64bit" name?? coz as it is i will be formatting and reinstalling a fresh OS on my lappy..

2.) Ok, thanx will stick to 4 GB of RAM, i think tats more than enough for my kind of work

3.) ok, so u mean tat the HD3670 512MB is a mid-lower gpu ?? (tats sad to hear) but the Studio XPS 16 is the best lappy around? right ?? or shud i look at other lappys as well ??

4.) Yup, right, infact the 9600 gt is slightly better than the HD3670.. ?

5.) while ordering online, wats the pros and cons ? (sorry to ask this, but i hv no exp in this watsoever)...and wat abt payment method, i do not hv a credit card..
-------------
6.) is there any other lappy (with a better gpu) in this Rs.85K budget? or is this the best deal im getting for s XPS Studio 16 lappy?
-------------

Cheers n e-peace....
