Problem Installing Windows XP On Toshiba Satellite A205

Hi Friends,
My bro brought Toshiba A205 Satellite laptop from US with pre-loaded Windows Vista Home Basic, now he is not satisfied with Vista so he told me to install XP, He brought an gunien Windows XP CD for that, now when I am trying to Install XP through booting....there is a message ""PLS CHECK WHETHER THE HDD IS PROPLERLY CONNECTED"" n there is only Press F3 to quit option....what to do..if I select first boot device as HDD...then CD is not booting, what to do??? i tried to prepeare a GHOST DVD through my PC, it is working till the Windows XP Boot-Logo and again BSOD...What To Do I Formatted Windows Vista??? He cannot use his laptop for any purpose pls help....

try to install sata hard disk driver into your windows xp installation by slip streaming using n-lite

another idea is is disable sata in bios(choose ide) and install xp. This will also work just fine. Between sata and ide there is only marginal difference.
