how can i delete these files?

i have some files on my hdd that will just not get deleted..when i try to delete them i get the error message: "Cannot delete file. cannot read from the source disk". i cannot format the partition as i have lots of data in it...how do i get rid of these files?

Use unlocker. Or a good linux distro live Dvd to get rid of them maybe.

No idea on the Windows Software side, but you can use any Linux Live CD/DVD to delete it.

If you have any Linux Live cd/dvds, we can help you further on the same.

yes i have ubuntu live dvd.

First try the method of jojothedragon (unlocker) if it not works then run a chkdsk on that drive.

GO to run ->cmd->chkdsk x: (x is the drive letter of ur drive in which that file are)
