Question Dell XPS m1530 or HP??

I want to purchase a lappy with a good configuration(budget 70-75k max). I want a good graphics card, atleast 320 GB of HDD space and Vista Ultimate bundled(not Home Premium). The proccy and other specs offered are fairly standard, so no specific requirements for those. I want the machine ASAP before 29th Dec. I've zeroed in on the XPS m1530 from Dell but not sure which model from HP will fit the bill.... I'm listing the pros and cons of each, please help!!

Dell XPS m1530:--
Pros: Good looks, Vista ultimate option, DVD of OS and drivers included, option for backpack instead of boring laptop bag

Cons: not the latest hardware, has to be purchased online and delivered, not sure of after sales service

HP(plz tell which model):--
Pros: latest hardware- centrino 2 and nvidia 9 series GPU offered, purchaseable off the shelf, supposedly better after sales service

Cons: vista ultimate not provided preloaded, discs of OS and drivers not provided

The machine will be mostly used for multimedia and gaming, so high performance is required. Thanks in advance.....

Well (even thou im a DELL fan),

i will still recommend u to go for HP's DV series of laptops, because it has the 9xxx series of gpu in them as compared to the 8xxx series of gpu in DELL (XPS series)..

Also, there is not much of a joy/sorrow in getting a lappy preloaded with Vista OS, u jus need to concentrate on the gpu (first)..

Also, here are my findings for a DELL lappy:

the INSPIRON SERIES:

1.) Inspiron 1525 (Rs.38,900 to Rs.42,900): comes ONLY with Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
and even the customisation option has NO other option to change this card.

2.) Inspiron Mini 9: comes ONLY with Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator 950
and with NO customisation

3.) Inspiron 13 & Inspiron 14: comes ONLY Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
and with NO customisation

================================================== ===============
------------------------------------
================================================== ===============

the STUDIO SERIES:

1.) Studio 15 (Rs.47,900 to Rs.54,900): comes ONLY with 256 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450
and the customisation has NO other option to change this card.

2.) Studio 17 (Rs.57,900): comes ONLY with 256 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650

================================================== ===============
------------------------------------
================================================== ===============

the XPS SERIES:

1.) XPS 1330 (Rs.53,900): comes with Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
and the customisation option has ANOTHER option of a 128MB nVIDIA Ge Force 8400 M GS at an added cost of Rs.4281/- (replacing the X3100)

2.) XPS 1530 (Rs.58,900): comes with ONLY 256 MB NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ 8600M GT

3.) XPS 1730 (Rs.109,900): comes with Dual 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT graphics with NVIDIA SLI Technology
and the customisation option has ANOTHER option of a
Dual 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX graphics with NVIDIA SLI Technology at an added cost of Rs.28,050/- (replacing the 256 MB 8700M GT)
-----------

Cheers n e-peace....

I use HP DV5-1015tx. You can download all the Vista 32 bit and 64 bit drivers from HP site. Also, I believe that if you have a Vista DVD, you can use it to install the version which comes with your laptoop using the Vista serial number provided at the bottom of the laptop.
