Default Automatic updates not working properly

my OS is Windows XP Professional SP2
i have some problem in Windows Automatic Update feature Problem..From last couple of weeks iam facing this problem...

Whenever my PC starts..the computer becomes little busy..and after a while..
in my taskbar a baloon pops out saying " Updates are ready for your computer..click to download "..

When i click this baloon, a window comes out showing -
"Choose updates to download"

In that window, "Windows XP Service Pack 3 (KB936929)" option was already clicked..when i click the download button..nothing happens and no downloading takes place...so why is it so?

All this happens each and every time when i boot my PC and my Windows starts,Repeatedly..
Iam attaching a snapshot of the above mentioned problem with this thread..kindly refer..and plz tell me the soln to complete my Windows XP SP3 update and to repair this problem..
thanking u in advance..
