I have a old computer running on Intel D845GVSR motherboard with onboard graphics. I attempted to test-install windows Vista Home. Installation was successful but the display is horrible. The screen resolution is fixed at 640 x 480 (medium 16 bit colours). There is no option to increase this resolution. I went to the device manager and tried to update the display drivers, which searched the net and displayed that the system has updated drivers already. I visited Intel website and they have an online tool to detect graphics drivers, surprisingly it also said that the drivers are already updated. This resolution is so bad that sometimes I can't even see the OK Cancel button of dialog boxes.
The installation CD that came with the motherboard is useless and it says "unknown OS". The Intel CD was for Win98/NT/2000/XP.
Is there any solution to this problem or this is the maximum that is possible?
