XFX GPU Graphics drivers

My friend recently bought a XFX 8600gt 512mb ddr2 . The gfx driver that is given with it is 169.xx which is probably very old. He says that the driver from the official nvidia site dosen't work and will have to get it from the official XFX site. Can you guys plz tell me where he can get the latest driver for his card and how?

I recently bought xfx 8600 GT card and it came with a blank cd.So i downloaded it from nvidia's website.And it works without any problem.
