Exclamation Forgetful XP!

I am using Windows XP SP3. The problem is once I shut down my PC and restart it, Quick Launch toolbar and WMP11 toolbar (toolbar mode in WMP11) go missing. I can add them back by right click-ing on the taskbar and selecting Toolbars and Quick Launch or WMP11 and it is fine after that. It is not much of a problem but I would like to know the reason of such behaviour as it didn't happen like this before 2 weeks. It was fine then. I have Google desktop and Avast installed.

Hey, not same but a bit similar problem is happening with me too.
I've also SP3 for XP.
In every boot the only icons come in taskbar is KIS2009, nothing else. If I restart the explorer.exe (after doing end task from Task Manager) all the icons show, like, volume control, Daemon Tools, Orbit, SoundMan etc.

Any explanation and solution??

Good Security softwares are mor ethan sufficient for home users. Rest install updates/patches only when a particular application demands it. Rest it's not necessary to have SP3

because SP3 improves performance, security, and stability of the Windows XP.

Open regedit and goto following keys:

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
HKEY_USERS\.default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
In right-side pane, if you find a DWORD value "NoSaveSettings", delete it.

PS: If you don't find this DWORD value, then please post a screenshot containing all DWORD values present under this key.
