@pc_game_lover2004,
VLC is not just a player. It can do many things dude. Check out those links..

See here for a list (though incomplete) of features:
http://www.videolan.org/streaming-features.html
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html

It can capture your screen activities as well:

well tried VLC, but was not satisfied with the result, coz wen i tried playing a file, it was blank (No video, jus audio) i knw i did do it correctly by this TuT ---> http://thejeshgn.com/2008/06/24/how-...screencasting/

but, this was a screen capture TUT, right ?? is there anything simpler or anything more straightforward ?

awating replies .....

^^
thanx, will try that..
--------------

but....

well, i hope i was clear in my question..

I jus want to capture/record a part of a movie (M.I 2) and save it as a media file so that it can be later played on any media player like winamp or WMP and so that i can share this video file (wich is captured wen the movie was being played in winamp) with my friend via email or via yahoo chat..

i.e the same way we get movie clips of 3-4mb in size on the net..

hope i am clear..
