CPU ratio fails

hello frnz when I strt my PC an error is displayed which states as::

CMOS checksum error.....
CPU ratio failed check ur BIOS setup and save before exit

i changed d CMOS cell also put d processor back in its position after cleaning sink etc....
but d problem is still not solved also am not able to get into BIOS...when try to do so PC hangs..

Hmmm... "CMOS checksum error" occurs when motherboard CMOS battery is weak... You may need to replace it!

config includes PIV 2.66ghz ,915 p4m800 via chipset ..n i have changed d cmos cell bt all in vain

n vats dat PROCC ??? neway?

If CMOS battery replacement not work. Try to update ur bios firmware

bt am unable to get into BIOS setup!!!

u don't need to enter into bios setup. just run the os and download the updated bios .
There will be a readme how to do a firmware bios update follow it

2day i opened up d sink again n tried 2 keep d alignment in right position n well... it worked!!! nw am sti;; gettin d same message again bt am able 2 continue d bootin process by pressin F1 as indicated in d beginning...
bt still aftr smtime it hangs....i hope its mainly d problem of sink alignment ..is it so???

so aftr lookin 4 so long i at last changed d sink for 250/- n it works!!!!!
