Re: [HELP] Best/Cheapest way to call US ??
If I have to make calles on a US landline, I use an application called Globe 7, very effective, works like a charm with damm cheap rates for US. Yahoo also offers to make calles on US landlines through their IM with ofcourse some price. I havent checked that but you can give it a try.

Re: [HELP] Best/Cheapest way to call US ??
I would also like to know how can my Dad call my bro in US from his normal mobile / landline in India. Are there any calling cards available which offer good rates ?
At present my internet connection is not feasible for Voice calling so i may rule out this option at present.
BTW yahoo is really good if i had a decent internet connection since its rates are just 1 cent per minute

Re: [HELP] Best/Cheapest way to call US ??
here in bangalore i use spice and they have a offer now you pay Rs 19 per for every sat and sunday in the month and then call rates are Rs 1/- to any where in US to any number be it mobile or landline.
so may be there are some thing like this there too, else you can use country specific cards which are i think cheap, else if there is Iway near your place call from there its cheaper from the normal ISD booths.

You could also use calling cards from Reliance/Airtel/BSNL. The charges vary from Rs.1.75 to Rs.2 per minute.

net2phone.....The last resort I would say.............
Globe 7 and yahoo charges 40p/min for US canada. Globe 7 voice quality was clearer with less breakups than yahoo. Yahoo though was loud.
