Default USB Port not working

Hi,

I have an old pc that i'm not using for major works..P3 1ghz Mercury 815E board.256 SD RAM ,Win XP.For the past few days it is not detecting any kind of USB devices..Earlier it was workin fine, later used to detect at times....now it has stopped. Is it the problem with the Motherboard. I've only one USB port enabled. Is it possible to replace the port..and if yes, will it be a problem since it is an old MB...and how much it costs..if no wat is the solution...wanna hear from you .

regards

sum1 probably disabled it from BIOS, in which case u need to re-enable it

if u r rulin that out

wat OS u usin?

if its -pre XP, like ME or 98 den i suggest dat u re-install d USB drivers

if u usin XP den u mite wan2 check device manager for d USB ports
if they have a yellow mark aganist them then it means that it they got sum driver problem
i suggest dt u uninstalldem and restart d comp, they will b automatically detected and reinstalled on next boot

also if ur mobo needs USB controller sw den re-install those also

if u wan2 add more USB slots to ur comp, u can do so with a PCI-based USB card

will give u around 4 USB slots

will cost around 200-300 [i think]

USB port has some age. I think your USB port has crossed its age.you need to replace your USB port.you can add new USB port..no issue of old motherboard.
