How to know HW price:: Go to Last Page, ask the individual component prices or configuration(must provide budget and type of use)and patiently wait for a reply, usually reply is given within 24-48hrs, if I'm not available someone else will answer here.

What the community answers:: Any HW price quotes(in kolkata, as well for other places but prices may differ by a small margin) as well as HW suggestions, you may ask for configurations as well. We also suggest shops to visit and websites(kolkata based and abroad) to purchase stuff from.

Are our quotes accurate?:: Yes, as much as possible, HW prices change by the hours, so our prices may not match prices after a week. If absolute accuracy needed go to shops yourselves and bergain.

Supreme is good only if you buy high level components - then you'll get good service. Otherwise they are worthless.

I don't knwo about other two shops mentioned.
But try Lalani, saboo computers and tirupathi enterprise.
They also quote good prices.

Get graphics card from tirupathi Ent. - the best price you can get.

rest of the pieces are good as I bought my components just few weeks ago.

Just my 2 cents: Get corsair RAM if you can afford. Those modules come with HeatSink - so perfect for overclocking. As for UPS - always go for APC, no matter how much is the price difference.

One more thing: Why spending 13K for nvidia 9800GTX+ ? When you can get Palit HD4850 @ 9.5K.
NV9800GTX+ is just ahead of HD4850 - you'll get maximum 5-10 FPS extra for extra 4K(!!). Some cases, I can assure HD4850 will blow 9800GTX+. If you have 19" LCD (or less) you're more than fine with an HD4850. Currently I am using it and I know how good HD4850 is for a 19" LCD.

I can understand it may be SC edition but remember: Palit HD4850 Sonic edition is below 11K. So you can easily go for HD-series and save extra 2K or invest it on other components (maybe extra 2GB RAM or get corsair RAM).

But its your money and your call!

The funny thing is Tirupati is quoting 13,500/- but many stores are quoting anything between 13,000/- to 13,500/- for EVGA 9800GTX+

No doubt, Corsair is the best memory, but quoting 2,400/- for 2GB

Palit Sonic edition sold like hot cakes and is'nt available anymore, no supply

I have a LG 22" LCD Monitor, gaming rocks with it

I will probably get it from Vedant Infosys or M.D Computers, any experiance with either of the shops?

Would you like to recommend any other shop to me?

P.S-I prefer a one stop shop.

I don't have experiences with any of these shops. But the prices you've quoted is pretty good and seems ok to me.

I bought corsair 4GB RAM @ 6400/- It's costly but one of the best branded RAM out there.

I can give you one shop address where you can try to find palit HD4850 Sonic. In E-Mall (CR Avenue) ground floor - there is one shop named 'Computer solutions' or something like that - it is the last shop in that floor in front of escalator.
You'll not get it right there but rest assure they'll get you that within 3/4 days. So plan ahead.
Since you still have one more week, you can check them out this weekend.

PS: For 22" LCD get HD4870 @ 16.5K. I would like to suggest this.

anyway with all the experiances I've gathered while visiting a dozen shops all day in Chandni I will try to give you an estimate of prices.

Here you go:-

1.Intel E2180-3,000/-

2.Asus P5KPL-CM-3,000/-(No idea about Gigabyte, will check it out)

3.500GB HDD-2,875/-(Seagate and WD)

4.Lightscribe DVD Drive-1,200/-(Lite-ON is now called Moserbaer, don't be surprised, ASUS also makes quality Lightscribe DVD writers but I prefer LG Drives as they are the most relieable brand. Lightscribe does'nt have any practical application now-a-days as the DVDs are rarest of all and LG's Lightscribe Drives aren't available here. So I recommend LG non-Lightscribe Drives@1,050/)

5.Zebronics Bijli/iBall Gamer cabby-1,200-1,500/-

6.P.S.U-I prefer Cooler Master Extreme Power Duo 600w@3,000/-(PowerSafe SMPS aren't good, Antec is waaaaaay too costly, VIP is unknown to me. Don't compromise here.)

7.EVGA 9600GT KO @7,500/-(Recommended)
Palit 9600GT @7,000/-(Good too)
ATI cards are very very hard to find in Chandni, most shops keep XFX only!!

8.Altec Lancing BXR 1121-1000/-(recommended)

The Above prices are good estimates only, excluding 4% V.A.T

A few tips:
1.Go to Chandni Chowk and visit these shops and take price quotes;

Stay clear off a shop named Technocrat(the shop's a complete crap)

2.The shop-keepers pretend to know everything, just keep patience

3.Make a list first, make a couple of Xerox copies, show a fresh one in each shop, shopkeepers tend to go nuts when they see other shop quotes at first, show it when making the final deal

4.Some shops may take a long time. keep patience and wait

5.There's no better way to buy than buying yourself.

6.The shops will assemble your PC for you.

i'll say the same for Vedant - excellent reception...

yeah and no shop in GC Avenue or Chandni stock gfx cards other than XFX. I had to go for a XFX8600GT from Vedant. Though, they promised to take care of it if anything ever happened.

Anyway a Zebronics 500va UPS shouldn't cost more than 2-2.5k,
I recommend APC 600va UPS @2.5k,
ATI cards are rarest among rare in Kolkata, will try my best, please contact this guy: http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/members/5526.html, he got a Sapphire HD4850 for 10.5k in Kolkata.

It's not rare actually not popular among shops. You can get the card in many shops (i visited 5 shops and three of them could get me an ATi) but they don't stock it like nvidia cards.
So, for an ATi card you need to wait few days where as nvidia is readily available.

MSI card is available through distributor at Ballygunj.
Tirupathi Ent. is also ATi supplier. I personally bought from - Mohit Electronics (They even had Palit HD4870 Sonic Edition readily available!!!)

There's a road just opposite to Technocrat, go straight to first T junction. In the left-hand building, ground floor - first shop.
It's not a big shop, a small shop. But they can arrange every hardware components within 15-20 minutes from warehouse.

When I went there, I asked about ATi cards and the guy over there - promptly told yes, he can arrange one. When I asked about particularly about HD4800 series he told me that Palit HD4850 is there and also HD4870 sonic edition is there.

In 1st week of Sept. HD4850 = 9.8K, HD4870 = 17.5K. I also communicated with MSI-Kolkata distributor, they quoted me HD4870 = 17.2K and HD4850 = 10K

First let me tell you that your budget is too low to get yourself a decent graphics card. If you spend too much on the card itself, you'll have no money left for a decent processor and motherboard.

For your budget I would suggest you to go for a AMD-based solution.

I here in Bangalore generally check one shop only, to get little overall idea of prices. If not available the shopkeeper asks into dealers, most of the shops in SP Roda does the same. So its just that, if you need to buy you need to check because the Dealer will give the shopkeepers same price its the shop which will do bargaining to you.

bought my system from vedant too. excellent dudes and at that time they gave me the best prices. something u CAN do is show them the quotes of other shops and tell that they are selling for more. they usually lower it. i did that with two products
