Medical quackery is a menace for poor patients.
The people of Bihar are particularly victims of this .quackery is most rampant in pathology .Supreme court says –“a MBBS or pg degree in other subject doing practice of pathology is quackery”.
In Bihar lab technicians with 1 year training have started opening path labs and their numbers have increased so much that many doctors have kept them in their nursing home. At most technicians are supposed to do some bedside tests like bleeding and clotting time, hemoglobin estimation and urine albumin and blood sugar examination under a specialist supervision.
But the scene in Bihar is strange .Bihar government allows technicians under banner of SEN laboratory to perform chemical tests at district and block headquarters and reporting on SEN lab pad/signature.
This is institution of quackery .now who is responsible for cheating of poor patients by unregistered and practice of pathology without a registration from Indian medical council.
This issue involves chief minister, health secretary, ministers and doctors who refer the cases or accept the report of these types
