Suppose you got your e-mail address as xyz.abc@gmail.com.

Now Gmail provides you with the facility of 2 e-mail addresses associated with one account. The 2 e-mail addresses provided by Gmail are as follows:

1. xyz.abc@gmail.com
2. xyz.abc@googlemail.com

Login from Gmail.com or Googlemail.com, you will get the same Inbox. Also ask your friends (or try yourself) to send an e-mail to xyz.abc@googlemail.com, and your e-mail will land in your Gmail Inbox.

This facility is provided as because Some European countries don't allow trademark name Gmail and only allows googlemail.
