HDD Blue
I'm using WDC WD2500BB-22RDA0. after an unfortunate disk crash during a lighting storm i had to reformat the HDD. as usual I created two partitions but this time, the second partition is listed in 'Blue Colour'. all the files/folders inside it..everything is shown in blue font colour!! not just that...my system is generating lots of random folder on 2nd partition which i'm unable to delete. its just cluttering my D: drive like anything!!! why is this happening?? please bail me out of this blue misery...
Thanks!

Re: HDD Blue
Well...dunno abt random folders but blue means that it is compressed....itz NTFS????then by default the feature is on to compress disk...

Re: HDD Blue
see. this looks soemthing like a virus.Did u get net or another HDD/Pen Drive before?May be you got a virus..because auto file generation is not by OS.
So..better try to backup all data in ur frnd's HDD first...and then.. reformat the HDD with full hard format. Then try to install ur OS.
this should help.

Re: HDD Blue
Thanks guys! Yes it's a ntfs partition. Can i disable compression NOW? I don't need this and moreover, i think it may slow my read/write speed.. Right? About a virus creating folder with random alphanumeric name, i don't think so because it starts the moment i installed the OS. I mean, absolutely fresh. No contamination. So what is it?
