lite off????????

i am using a moser baer lite on DVD writer sometimes it jus vanishes off from my computer and the LED in the writer isn visible and when i restart my pc its visible again

Check its connection with motherboard.

How old is it??? I use CD writer of same brand and just after 2 years i got this problem and most of time it failed to detect disc in drive...

then as suggested above check connections... if this doesnt help, you should take it to service center.
