Default The Mic port in front of the cabinet not working

I'm unable to use the Mic port that is located in front of the cabinet. Is there any kind of connection that I need to check on the motherboard? I tried to open the cabinet and check for the wire connections but everything looked hazy to me. Do I have to look at the motherboard manual for this? Please help me out. I'm having trouble connecting my mic to the back of the cabinet. The port for connecting headphones at the front of the cabinet is working. It's only the mic front port which is not working.

Has it stopped working suddenly? If you have the diagrams of the various connections on
the mobo you can check the mic connections. Intel boards do come with this diagram. It mmay also be that there is a loose connection in the jack.

No, it's not working from the beginning! Yes I think I need to check that diagram out. I don't know where I placed that motherboard diagram.
