Default Effective defragmentor,my experiance, valued opinion please

(Plese note this is my own honest experiance without any intention to denounce any of the listed software.)

System Information
P 4 2.4GH Dual boot with Windows 98 and XP Pro SP2 with all updates.
file system -Fat 32
256 mb DDRRD RAM 266 MH
60+20 GB Seagate 5400RPM HDD

Aim:
To defarg two partitions developed bad sectors of 448kb & 536 kb

respectively in both HDD harbouring both OS master drive.

SOFTWARES TRIED

O&O Defrag 8.0 Build 1341 Professional
Diskeeper for Windows Version: 9.0.511.0
Perfect Disk 7.0 build31
System Mechanic Professional Version 5.5a
Norton Speed Disk 2005
Windows Defragmentor XP Pro SP2 & 98

How tried:
Approached both HDD from either OS with all software except O&O

Defrag, which was not supported by 98.

Experiance:

None of the software was able to defrag the partitions with read error except

NORTON SPEEDDISK 2005 in Win XP. Norton took nearly 4 hrs to defrag the 10 GB Partitions to complete defragmetation.

The fstest defragmentor was NORTON SPEEDDISK 2005 in Win 98, which was blazingly fast to defrag all other partitions of 98 & XP.

This topic was discussed several times in this forum but I think it is worth to share my experiance with the members and to get their valued opinion

Norton Speed Disk makes a hugh chunk of files untransferable after it takes charge for the first time. No other defrag software will be able to move it and that is why it speeds it up the next time.

But I have had some nightmarish experience with Speed Disk earlier. Once, after it reported successful completion, my OS (Win98SE) refused to start even in safe mode and I had to format and re-install everything.
