Default Disk Defrag Issue

Hi All,

I have noticed a pretty weird behavior wrt my hard disk. I have 5 partitions on a 160 GB HDD.

My C: drive tends to get fragmented very quickly (sometimes in just 2 days). I use O&O Defrag and whenever i analyse the disk the fragmentation level comes upto atleast 15 -16%.

The C: drive has only windows on it. Other apps are all installed in the other partitions..

Can someone help me here, since this is causing my pc to slow fown significantly...

Thanks!

Are my documents and desktop etc. in C drive or on other?

Remove temporary files, empty cache, Use CCleaner.

I use CCleaner, TuneUp Util 2008, SpyBot Search n Destroy... with all latest updates.. scans are run every single weekend hence temp files shud not be an issue...

Any ideas?

Move pagefile to another partition, disable hibernation restart, and then defragment. May help

I would suggest booting into the recovery console and running chkdsk
