it is common problem with old samsung RW drive. always keep the drive occupied with the any CD.

get ur cd drive serviced by ur vendor

no need 4 tht as keeping a cd inside surely solves d problem.
i know coz i'm facing the same problem

i've other problem too with my writer. need help
while earasing a CD-RW an error msg is displayed sayin " power calibration error" However i dont face any problem while writing usual cdr.

anybody with a solution?

my samsung cdrw never ever installs nething in 1 go . sometimes it asks 2 retry after just 2% n it can go all the way up2 99% , after which it stops installing n u have 2 start over again .

solved this ****ty problem by buying a dvd writer

its some virus

Its not due to virus but due to manufacturing defect.
