Widescreen Problem!

Hello friends!

I have recently purchased a 19 inch widescreen monitor from dell.
The problem is when I play any game at 1024x768 resolution, the whole gamescreen seems to be streched, which looks very horrible.

I want to know, is there any way to play the game at the above mentioned resolution with black bars at the left and right side of the screen (i.e letterboxing), without stretching.

Please specify in which games ur getting this prob ?
some games have option for setting resolution in their settings panel but some dont

I have problems in games like MFS:MW , prince of persia sands of time and warrior within.

Dunno about NFS, but I played SOT and WW and TT on my 19" widescreen, and I felt it looked pretty good myself. I didnt really mind the stretching.

Yeah even i am testing an upcoming title(Can't name it due to NDA)at 1024*768 on an widescreen and its good..

I have a LG L226WTQ screen and I haven't observed any kind of streching at playing games on 1280 X 1024. I prefer to play at 1280 X 960 though. NFSMW can run on 1280 X 960. I play it on that resolution with my HD 4850

Well, for NFS MW, there is a widescreen patch at widescreengamingforum.com , but i too hv a 19" LCD, and the NFS MW looks really gr8, coz wen i applied the wide screen patch, the cars width was reduced and it looks like an Auto rikshaw..lol.. so im playing in a wide screen mode..and it looks gr8..

The site also has many patches for several other games.. jus browse and see..
