Default Legal Questions...

Well, I have recorded myself playing various Linkin Park, Maroon5 and other bands' songs on my keyboard and i have transfered them to the PC, What I was wondering is that would it be a legal offence if I upload these files on the net?
I mean I'm not taking any credit for the original artists work, its only my variation and my version of their song.
Can it be done?

yes, you can distribute these songs with no worries.
Now u r the Owner of the content, so u can do whatever u want with these.
however, U will need to file a copyright if u wish to stop others from making a copy of it.

I think you can see Sec. 54 of the Indian Copyrights Act. I am not 100% sure about the section.

Have a look at any of the remix or "cover versions" of cassettes/CDs. It will have the correct section mentioned on it. You will find most of those "cover versions" released by T-Series.
