cyclic redundany error

i have a couple of images (.nrg) of a couple of games..
i burned the games(7cds).. and in both i got the cyclic redundany error..
i burned the cds at 40x.. should i burn at a lesser speed...
i have a sony cdrw 48x/24x/48x and use gunuine sony cds
please tell me what the problem is
also i have lots of mp3 tracks on my HDD..so whenever i create an mp3 cd
some songs don`t play well ... i mean the song seems like its been fast forwarded or something.. i burn audio and mp3 cds at 4x... what seems to be the problem,..... do ineed to get all the mp3`s at one single bitrate..or anything else..
i use NERO ....

A Cyclic Redundancy Error occurs if the cd has been burnt at higher speed than the cd-rom drive can support.

In your case, you said, you burnt those at 40x, so there shouldn't be any reason for CR error to occur.

try burning at 24x and check again.

i`ll do that...
first i got an image of the cd..(image at max speed).. then i burned at 40x..
so can there be a problem that the image was a corrupt... or maybe the cd doesn`t support 40x..
