Default hey swatkat...help needed here too....

i have a p4 2.0 with 256 ddr and a samsung hdd running win xp with sp2. my problem is, my comp suddenly hangs unexpectedly. following is the log file of hijackthis. please help....

@bharatbala2003: I had asked you to not post advice if you are not sure. Again, you have suggested critical system processes in Red. And you have also asked him to fix DAP-that is the process for Downlaod Accelerator Plus. Please confirm everything before posting. Understand that wrong advice could render someone's system unusable. Check this site before posting anything:

this is wat i found.. fix the enteries in red
LOL man, all the entries u marked in red is necessary
smss.exe is a process which is a part of the Microsoft Windows Operating System. It is called the Session Manager SubSystem and is responsible for handling sessions on your system
DAP thing is the download accelerator plus software and it need not be fixed....

Also remove this entry from ur log file:It's a winsock Hijackers 010 entry which is not needed....

@doc i used the command u gave and then ran HJT the log is there above

but can anyone tell me wat the one in the red entry is.. i dunno wat it is.. and it didnt appear in my b4 logs..

@swat thnx i wasn afraid but then two days back MS antispyware and S &D detected lots a spywares... like that gator.. and i dint know where on earth they came from.. i dint download anything recently too.. and no one else uses this comp! so i was a lille taken aback to see this even after i cleaned the logs!

I don't know what it is that you used, but ctfmon.exe is part of the Microsoft Office Suite and while its not really that necessary, it shouldn't be terminated unless absolutely necessary.

hey, before i tried what u guys suggested, the following message popped up:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on the BSOD.
also, the following lines appeared:

what should be done?
also, the ram problem.....could it occur because of voltage fluctuation? help guys....thanx

If you have Intel Application Accelerator or Intel ATA Storage Driver, uinstall it and then check for any errors.
