Default How to save .rm files?


How to save these streaming files who have the .rm extension?
Is there any software to do that?

Yes there are but make sure you do not rip protected stream. Though I think it might be something like recording from radio!

Generally they are paid software look for Mini stream ripper

Just grab the url and save it using something like Orbit downloader. Why use a paid software?
To figure out the url you can use Naviscope or Safari (Activity).

Are you able to save the video file, because maybe what you did was just download the .rm file, which is very small in size compared to a full 1 hour lecture video!

all OCW files are downloadable
replace the http://mfile.akamai.com/7870/rm/mits...kamai.com/7870 with http://ocw.mit.edu/ans7870 in the addresses

the files wil now become available for download

Why are you so sceptical. As I said, it works.
Here is a screenshot in case you still dont believe me.



208MB seems large enough.

yeah, orbit downloader works well..the latest version can also work with websites that have incorporated anti leeching technology...

@Indyan, I said that because I tried downloading but could only download the .rm file, no matter what I did.

What download manager did you use?
I hope you used Orbit (notice that I had specifically mentioned Orbit download manager).
Copy paste the link I provided in orbit. It will download a rm file that is 200+mb.
