Default 60hertz or 75 hertz?

My DELL LCD monitor supports 1440 x 900 @ 75 hertz. Should I keep it at 75 hertz? Will it reduce the life?

As i read somewhere else before, refresh rate has absolutely no impact for LCD monitor if DVI is the interface used. In case standard VGA connector is used you should skip to what the manufacturer prescribes.

Nothing will happen to screen no matter which rate u use.
But it always has an impact on ur eyes.
Lesser refresh rate means more stress on eyes.
So I wud suggest, reduce ur resolution a bit and go for 85Hz.

He has LCD monitor, not CRT. They are very different in how they display images.

^^ it doesn't matter much, even on LCD monitor if u set a low refresh rate , the display will not be smooth.
