Default Is new serial required for SP2??

I have a licensed Windows XP Corporate edition disc. I want to create an unattended Win XP SP2 disc (I know the the steps). Will the serial code I got with Corporate edition work or do I have to get a new one??

Yes. If you have a licensed copy, it will definitely work.

Don't worry go Ahead... Nowadays licensed users have to worry than the pirated users..

You are a liicenced user, it will definitely work...But don't share your copy to your friends....then MS will deactivate
your licence serial no.

i m not sure about the original, i have a pre-loaded OS, so i dont care about it, but my frnds who have a pirated version, had to search for a new serial number after integrating SP2 to the original CD.

Even the original CD integrated with SP2 asks for a new serial number if not done by aadipa's way given in Tutorial section. Even our school which has ORIGINAL WINDOWS XP PRO on each & every computer installed from a multiuser licenced cd wen integrated with SP2 refused to accept the old serial number.

This is wat my computer teacher told me. And i know that the windows was original coz i had installed it on some computers by myself.

dude...we just installed SP2 on over 400 machines here. No hassles what so ever. And the guy is asking if he can do an unattended installation on machines which have original Windows installed. So I dont see any issues.

This is getting onto a pointless discussion.

Original keys ALWAYS work

If you don't believe me, try it out yourself. And in the rare case that it dosen't, you can call the Microsoft hotline.

Here we Go!!!
It starterd all over again. We've seen a big war of words ended when one posted "how many use pirated software" letz not change the topic here. as we all know, we can use the same key for SP2,no issues need not get a new one.

Letz not get over to piracy thatz never ending issue.
For the post by raven, I donno the keys which are marked as Invalid other than the renowned and most pirated key ever known FCKGW.

As yehmeriidhain was stating in his post, the keys which generate the PID as following:

it was quite simple when shwetanshu said itwont accept the key .. it simply means its a pirated key no matter what
shikhar thot im tellin him its a pirated key .. well unfortunately if its not accepting the key in sp2 .. it IS pirated as has been said 5 times earlier
and thanks rajas for that list !! shouldve posted that in the first place

I am locking this thread..since the poster lied to others that he is having legal key...

He has got pirated key...i have got the proof with me but it would not be right to disclose it here so on that basis i am locking the thread...
