I have an Intel motherboard D845GVSR. I recently bought a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 160 GB , model number ST3160215A. The serial number is 9RX7N9T1. When I connected it to the motherboard, the hard disk is not being recognized. I tried disconnecting all the other IDE devices including, the dvd-rom 's. However still it is not recognized. I currently use a Western Digital 40GB IDE hard disk, which works fine. I have tried using the 40 pin 80 conductor cable. I have tried all the jumper settings. The hard disk is recognized in other pc's. Please kindly look into the problem and provide a suitable suggestion.
Brand new hard disk not being detected.
