Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
You can lock your pc.
Alternatively, just plug-out the keyboard from PC.

plugging out the keyboard is not a good option.you will have to restart computer to recog the keyboard again.
win key +l is a good option, setting up screen saver password is another option

Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
just put your computer to standby, and set a password for resuming. this way you will save electricity as well.
in case you are not being asked for a password when you resume, then follow these steps:
goto control panel>power options. click on advanced tab, check "prompt for password when computer resumes from standby". click OK.

Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
if u lock both keyboard and mouse ...then how ll u start ur work again....
u ll not able to unlock keyboard...
Is there any key..like mobile combination key to lock keypad.
and same combi key to unlock........
Even if it is there..that would be universal...so anyone crack it...
So need any specific software..then u can give ur combi key lock....

Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
Win_key + L will *only* lock the desktop for you. If you get a dialog box having options "Switch User" and "Log off", then simply click "Switch User". All your programs continue to run as they were.
If you are the alone person using the PC, you can also disable "Use Fast User Switching" from Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change the way user log on or off
On a side note, I've attached an USB/bluetooth dongle to my PC. After configuration, my openSUSE/KDE combo automatically locks the PC when I (keeping my bluetooth mobile phone with me) get out of reach.

Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
In my opinion you may try these options:
* Set a password in your account, press WIN+L and Switch User....in this case unless someone shutdown computer your setting are restored after login.
* Set a screensaver password and activate it before leaving computer...Best Option
* Use a thirdparty software like "Lock My PC" this is an excellent one but....... google free

You mean that while you are not there other people should be able to access the resources through LAN or something like that, right?
then what is the problem with the screensaver option?
if it is not solving your problem then please write clearly.

Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
ax3, if you lock your computer, your proggies would continue to run in the background. Now , when you are back just enter your password and you can start using it.

you will just keep writing that we are not getting it or will try to make it clear? what is the problem you are facing? do you know it yourself or that too we will ahve to understand ourselves?
when evryone says you should lock the computer & u don't want to do that, then u should write clearly why you don't want to do that.

then use screensaver with password, this option also, has already been suggested.

AX3... mayb this is what u r lookin for.
Here r 3 other programs. WinKeyLock, Toddler Keys & Keyboard Locker. Dont know if u can use them on ur office system though.. without admin rights
I remember a friend of mine locking his keyboard with a alphanumeric combo... but i suppose it was also based on some program running in the background. Windows by default might not b having a combo code for locking keyboards... atleast not in the recent times.

Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
ax3,
You just want the desktop and everything to remain as it is, and only the keyboard should not be used. Right? keyboard and mouse or only keyboard? Whatever key you press on the keyboard should not work till the key combination is given. Is that what you need?

Re: Keyboard LOCK ! ! !
One more 4 u... ax3... Baby Smash
As babies smash on the keyboard, colored shapes, letters and numbers appear on the screen. Baby Smash will lock out the Windows Key, as well as Ctrl-Esc and Alt-Tab so your baby can't get out of the application. Pressing ALT-F4 will exit the application and Shift-Ctrl-Alt-O brings up the options dialog.
