Default SCSI disk vs sata

Hello guys
I had an offer to buy a SCSI CARD 2940U2W at a low cost of Rs 1000/- and i am tempted to take it up but i was wondering will it give a better performance over a sata disk that i am currently using (seagate 160gb 7200rpm 8mb buffer) on the SCSI CARD 2940U2W i plan to buy a 32 mb 10,000 rpm seagate disk . Has any one used this card before i know it is an old card supporting a throughput of 80mbps but then will the card free up the cpu as scsi has a low overhead as compared to sata/ide drives when it comes to cpu utilisation.
with regards
pradeep
