Resolving the IP Address?

PROBLEM - I want to know all the obtainable information about a user whose IP address is known, how can I do that? At least name, place and any contact.

There are many sites to know the place (city) from which the person is accesing net, assuming that the person is not using proxy. One such site is http://www.ip2location.com/free.asp. There are 100s of similar sites.
To get the contact no or name of the person,however you have to contact the service provider(like BSNL etc)...

yeah, u can find some info..
But I guess at most u will be able to find his city and ISP..Nothing else
Name and exact address I dont think .

name and address are not even possible unless u r the ISP for him. He'll probably have dynamic ip so it's not fixed and nowadays BSNL has shifted to using NAT, so one ip belongs to many u can find only the city ,nothing else unless u can hack into the ISPs network
