Default shutdown using keyboard


Is there any method to set shutdown using keyboard.i mean key combinations when my monitor is off.

The routine I suppose -- Alt F4 followed by right arrow key and then Enter key.

Win+D -----------> Make sure desktop is selected
Alt+F4 -----------> Close explorer session
U -----------> Accelerator key for 'Turn off'

First you may want to do a windows key+m or windows key + d

But you can always use macro software, to set a key combination for shutting down the computer. for example, press control+shift+f12 or something like that to shut down. You can use AutoHotKey or AutoIt for free macro software. And please read the documentation for using them.

The simplest way is using the power button on keyboard (if present)

best method is just press the power button on the cabby...in case of ATX systems, proper shut down will get initiated

^for ubuntu i think, ALT+f2 -> poweroff -> Enter will work.

for windows methods told by both abh1shek and xbonez will do.

and

folks what is the shortcut for the hibernate .. !!

i just use the one single push to power button and my system hibernates in secs .. quick. I dont shutdown, unless i install something new.

haha .. you are funny ... didnt ya read my post ... i use hibernate instead of shutdown.. so enable to hua na bhai and my point was that that shortcut is not working.

but still I think the best is to just press the power button. one push so simple.. it cant be better than that.
