Default What is tqy????????????

Would some kind soul explain what tqy means? I found tqy.exe lurking in the Windows\system32 directory not visible even when I ran a file/folder search with the "reveal hidden/system files" option.

I managed to find this out with 'ActivePort' (freeware).

This program was contacting a remote server and uploading a constant stream from my connection. When I terminated the process, Lo behold my dial-up connection came back to normal.

Is it safe to delete this file or is it part of Windows system files?

(I use Windows XP as my OS and have Both IE 6 & Firefox)

quite possibly you've been infected with spyware or virus.

scrub your pc with microsoft antispyware and adaware. 8)

if it doesnt solve the problem, do revert.

Default Thanks swatkat...

It was indeed a virus & Kapersky Labs identified it as "Backdoor.win32.Rbotgen". To hell with Norton Anti Virus. 8) 8) [/img]

Have you deleted the file? Also, you can do a scan with TrojanHunter to find out and remove any trojans.
