excuse me? most public keyloggers are detected as malware by antivirus software. because they dont know if its you who installed the soft, or anyone else who did it without your knowledge. So there is no real point using public keyloggers if you use an AV/ASpy/FW. I checked the link Sparsh gave, and its its detected by NOD32, ZAP and Ad-Aware

If you go the other way round that is install your own keylogger then if by chance you forget to switch it off , it will slow down the system.
All files in softpedia are virus tested, so i don't think it should be harmful to your computer.
like in case of some keygens it shows they have virus but don't affect your computer in any way.

They wont slow down the system. I tested my keylogger with a friend's system, that is a very basic p4, and the memory consumption is very less. A keylogger does not waste cpu time looking for keystrokes as you think. It is executed when you press a key only, it doesnt look for keystrokes all the time like an infinite loop.

edit: i dont want a bad impression, this guy is my partner in crime, so he knew what we are doing

well it has a process running that whenever a key is pressed it comes in action and i am not talking just about the keylogger part the one which i used is a remote system controller with functions like mouse control, keyboard control, video streaming, file browser and more. Then will or will it not consume lotsa processes
Even i have tried lotsa this and i know what i am talking about.

^^ yeah, what you are talking about will take lots of resources, but just the mouse and keyboard control is quite cheap in memory use.

The keylogger I was talking about was SFY. Got a little confused with BFG.

To download SFY, http://www.softforyou.com/php_dir/download/klg.exe

Like I earlier said, this klg hasn't been detected by any of my AVs (NOD32, KAS, Avast) which I update regualarly.
