Cool as a CUCUMBAR ! ! !

No volume control ! ! !
My computer can't play any sound .... I get this popup message: "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, Go to Control Panel and Other Hardware, and then click ADD HARDWARE." whot 2 do ?

try this if it helps:
got it from msdn forums:
Go to Start --> Run, and type in services.msc.
A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to Windows Audio. Right-click
and click on Properties.
Make sure that "Startup type" is set to automatic. Also, make sure, under "Service
status," start is selected.

go to system properties -> hardware -> device manager and see if there is any yellow exclamation mark agains sound,video and game controllers link. If so then your driver is not installed properly. Choose update driver option from there n make it search ur Driver cd for correct driver.

no i havent installed any drivers .... just kept the @ default [XP] ....
its was working fine all these years ......
koi ? nahi hai anywhere in dm .......

dude, u need to install sound drivers  otherwise it wont work  do what bhaskarvyas001 has said

dude fresh installations require drivers to be re-installed, try it if it works good, if it doesnt then we will see. drivers are a must and required

don't install some driver, go to ur device manager and see if there is an exclamation next to any device update it's driver ideal & practical case scenario, there should be no exclamation in ur device manager

no ? anywhere in dm ..........
didnt install any drivers & 2 my surprize, vol is present in TManager ....
i just enabled some services >> themes, indexing & printer spooler, which were disabled by me ........
& plug-n-play options in srvices is gryed out, is it same with u ? bt PF usag is 300mb without any prog running ........

did install mb drivres bt no use .... any other options ?

Dude ...if u dnt see sound drivers in Device manager...problly its disabled frm bios....do check ur bios n report back..
