hey guys i want to use vi editor for my programmin
i was using putty to connect to linux based server and write programm
now i want to use vi editor in my comp
how can i use
wat to download and how to use
i use windows xp and i want gcc wat should i do

well,u need gcc(gnu compiler collections) installed on Linux.
In window$,you need mingw32 .there are many front-ends

i dont get it, gcc is not available on windows? and vi too? it can't be compiled for windows?

Well bloodshed Developer C++ has got a GCC compiler and mingw32,and works fine on a windows system.

Download MiniGW (GCC, G++, Fortran for Windows in a minimalistic package) from:

Download VIm for Windows:

install mingw

its a set of tools to make your windows command prompt do stuff which a linux terminal can.
