well G-spot is just a tool tht will show u wat codecs are used to make a particular video file.... and using tht information u can know what codec u need to play it.. when u import a video file, it will show info like frame-rate, video codec, audio codec, etc

but gspot is very limited as to container support and information about certain codecs. Matroska and FLV often totally rape it, and so does real media.
